KKDIK applies only to legal entities established in Turkey. Companies based outside Turkey may not directly fulfill any obligations under KKDIK. As a consequence, customers of a non-Turkish supplier have to fulfill all obligations under the regulations of KKDIK as an importer, which is a distinct disadvantage in comparison to purchasing from a TURKISH manufacturer. However, non-Turkish companies may appoint an Only Representative to take over the tasks and responsibilities for complying with the regulations pursuant to KKDIK article 9.
Advantages of Only Representative
–Registered products are more prefarable.
–Constitutes direct and diverse access to the market.
–Enables advantage over other foreign suppliers without an OR.
–Increases recognition of the products among downstream users.
